Volker Streckel manages the day-to-day business of the Design Post Cologne with great enthusiasm and is always available as an experienced adviser to visitors and exhibitors. After completing his studies at Cologne’s Technical Furniture Trade College, MöFa, he acquired extensive consultation expertise in the fields of design and furnishing during his many years of work in the upmarket residential and property business.

A trained carpenter and MöFa alumnus, Frank Kirschbaum is more than professionally qualified to receive and advise visitors. With his extensive background knowledge of the architectural history of the Design Post, he also gives regular lectures and conducts guided tours of the venue upon request.

The designer Julia Suer and the architect Simone Gotschol support the team of advisers on a project-by-project basis.

Ute Stracke handles the business of Arco’s German distribution office.

The founders and proprietors of the Design Post, Paul van den Berg and Willem van Ast, are a well-established team when it comes to successful showroom concepts. They have also come up with similar projects, such as the Pakhuis and later the Post CS in Amsterdam, more than 20 years ago.

Paul van den Berg, owner of the Dutch furniture collection Montis, created a sensation with spectacular furniture design as far back as the 80s. Willem van Ast, a designer himself and executive director of the venerable Arco furniture factory in the Netherlands, is an acknowledged sponsor of young designers and has received numerous design awards.

Dick Spierenburg is the co-founder and the man in charge of the project. In addition to his design work, he gained extensive experience through founding and coordinating comparable centres of expertise as manager of the Dutch models of the Design Post – Pakhuis and Post CS.
